A 25-bed pediatric acute care medical-surgical unit with specialty centers for cystic fibrosis (CF) and Neurosurgery. In addition to collaborate with many other disciplines including Infection Disease, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, General Pediatrics and Orthopedics. Provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Patients range in age from infancy to the adult. Clinical Nurse II demonstrates within the competency domains of Patient and Family Centered Care, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Safety, Continuous Quality Improvement, Teamwork, Technology/Informatics, Professionalism, and Leadership. Works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. Focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age appropriate considerations of assigned patients. Seeks feedback in assuming leadership roles and provides feedback for improved clinical practice. Demonstrates how nursing practice impacts the organizational vision, mission, and goals and the care delivery system. The nurse complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies. PERSON AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE: Places the patient and the family at the heart of every decision and empowers them to be partners in their care. -Responsible for the overall management of approximately 25 patients including the provision of direct care with a designated visit productivity standard. -Plans, organizes, and directs all patient care services for patients in the assigned caseload in accordance with current standards and regulations, ensuring the optimal degree of quality care is maintained. - Responsible for coordinating the interdisciplinary team to implement the established plan of patient care and ensuring effective management of visit utilization and control of expenses. - Assist in agency wide orientation, competency evaluations and consultation to clinical staff related to specific expertise as requested by Clinical Manager.

Has handled many home-based nursing assignments during this period. Responsible for patient care, medication management, implementing patient treatment plans, preparing patient documentation, working with patient families, patient relations, and other nursing-related functions. ▪ Works closely with physicians and agency staff in coordinating patient plan-of-care. ▪ Serves a large and diverse patient population.

A 52-bed unit, which served all manner of pediatric patients . Responsible for patient care, administering mediations, implementing patient care and treatment plans, recording patient histories, and patient education. During tenure in position, also served as Charge Nurse, supervising nursing activities, including junior registered nurses, enrolled nurses, health care assistants, student nurses, and clerical staff members. ▪ Educated patients about their treatment, and also counseled family members. ▪ Developed policies, procedures, and work standards for unit staff members.
