About Me
I have consistently pursued two themes through my career – people and improvement. From frontline mining operation to delivering technology-led solutions to addressing critical strategical challenges within the mining industry, I have sought to integrate innovation, process, and people. Thus far, this journey has taken me from mining organization to technology consultancy, and through multiple disciplines; within each area, I have remained focused on data and process driven methodologies to bring transformation through continuous improvement program and/or technological intervention.
I have a special interest in shaping mining industry transformation, and exploring the interdependencies between human, process, and emerging technologies.

Hexagon Mining vertical primarily known in the industry by its product trade names – LEICA Geosystems, MineSight , SafeMine & Devex; bring Design, Fleet Management, Collision Avoidance, Production Optimization and mine monitoring together in a life-of-mine solution. Provide domain and digital mining subject matter expertise and consulting skills for clients in India region. Conducted risk and financial analysis of scheduled scenarios for best business case. • Successfully and progressively improved mine planning & designing process, and norms to replicate, improve and best utilise Autonomous Haul Truck technology in mine planning activities. Assisted and advised on modifying AHS algorithm to best reflect mining process and condition. • Assist Life of Mine Planner with Pit Optimisation, Ore block modeling, pit designs, productivity trends, Haul simulation and dump optimisation for productivity sustenance. • Continuously developed mid-term/short term strategy for mining by working with various stakeholders to capture all aspects, which may affect the mining plan. Tata Steel (2010 - 2012 ) Superintendent (Mining Operation)
Designated as Unit Leader Operation and reporting to Mine Manager, key responsibilities included: • Lead and manage all mining activities and ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with statutory requirement, ISO and Tata Steel policies & standards. Development and manage SOPs and Work Procedures. • Prepare and monitor compliance to mine annual budget plan and various business & legislative reports. Ensure timely completion and implementation of Short term /Long Term plan in line with mining strategy. Attentively conducted productivity analysis of mining resources (man & machine) to optimise system output, increase efficiency and reduce cost. • Lead execution of Capital brownfield expansion project “Opening of Sector C&D”. • Act as key contact to manage and resolve all inter/intra conflicts related to mining activity. • Managed all mining contracts and evaluate high value mining contracts. • Risk analysis on potentially significant threats to mining process/contract and develop contingency/alternative plan. Trial of new or alternate process/provider to ensure de-risking of existing system. • Facilitate and support all internal and external audit related to mining activities and contracts. • Providing training & mentoring to reporting Engineers. Tata Steel (2007 - 2010 ) Technical Advisor to General Manager
Reporting to General Manager, key responsibilities included: • Produced Strategic Production Plan for division in line with Business Strategy Plan. Ensure alignment of Life of Mine Plan with Strategic Production Plan. • Competently provided technical input to General Manager, Operation Managers, and other technical disciplines to improve mining practice, prepare/analyse technical documents, operational planning, execution, review and reporting. Assist Procurement to define and set targets for all mining contracts. • Assess and assist Capital Projects proposals, equipment selection and opex estimation. Member of Feasibility Study for approval of Capital brownfield expansion project “Opening of Sector C&D”. Developed alternative Pre-Feasibility Plan for Greenfield Project “Kotre-Basantpur-Pachmo Project”; mining strategy agreed and accepted by Project team. • Prepare Annual business plan and monitored Divisions performance against the annual budget. Analysed processing plant and mining activities to co-ordinate and optimise the system output. • Analyse Mining Industry and executed strategy program to include long term stakeholder portfolio, trial of new/alternate process or product, identification of new market and development opportunities. • Develop and engage suppliers in relationship management program, develop strategies to ensure suppliers are fully leveraged towards operational optimisation and full contractual intent is captured, there by managing the associated risks • Assist General Manager in business governance by engaging with government, private, and community bodies/entity for sustainable relation. • Conduct various internal audits & review meeting and update General Manager on the progress of the decision implementations. • Member of Business unit Core team for wining prestigious TQM Deming Prize in 2008 • Lead Team of young mining engineers as part of change management.
