I have nearly 30 years of experience as a business and tax advisor with leading global professional service firms in Vietnam (including EY, KPMG, PwC, BDO, Kreston). Through these years, I has gained extensive experience in Vietnam’s regulatory matters and taxation, and I have developed excellent working relationship with the authorities and regulators in Vietnam, with whom I meet regularly to address business and tax issues on behalf of my clients and to advocate policy reform and legislative change.

My achievements include awards from Vietnam’s Minister of Finance (2011 & 2016) and Prime Minister (2013) for “excellent contributions to the tax profession”, and recognitions by International Tax Review as one of the tax controversy leaders in Vietnam (in 2013, 2014 & 2015).

I speak regularly at seminars in Vietnam and in the region on the topics of doing business in Vietnam and Vietnam’s taxation. I also author several Vietnam tax publications.

My clients include NMCs, local companies, and start-up businesses in various sectors including real estate, petroleum, manufacturing, consumer products, logistics, trading and distribution, pharmaceutical, healthcare, education, hospitality and entertainment, renewable energy, e-commerce and fintech etc. I advise clients on Vietnam-related matters, including market entry strategy, company incorporation, regulatory and tax compliance, tax planning, tax dispute resolution and controversy, customs, immigration, mobility, corporate finance, M&A, estate planning and management etc.

I obtained graduate and postgraduate education in Australia and hold a Master of Professional Accounting. I am a fellow member (FCPA) and chairperson of Advisory Committee of CPA Australia (for South Vietnam), board member of Vietnam Tax Consultants Association (VTCA), member of International Tax Specialist Group (ITSG) and member of Vietnam CFO.

In 2016, I founded Nam Nguyen Consulting (NNC) which is now Kreston NNC, a member of Kreston Global.
