With over 20 years of global experience in the broader construction industry from construction materials (aggregates, cement, concrete and asphalt), to logistics and road contracting (asphalt and civil), spanning both private and public sectors. I am a seasoned and dynamic management professional who graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Tasmania.

    Activity: Ready-mix concrete and pumping services Key Responsibilities: • Implemented the overarching strategic vision and mission for the construction business in alignment with corporate objectives. • Provide oversight for the financial performance of the ready-mix concrete business, ensuring growth in revenue, effective cost control, and sustained profitability. • Ensure superior levels of customer satisfaction by delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards. • Negotiate and finalized contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. • Conducted thorough analyses of key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of construction operations. • Recognized opportunities for process improvement and applied best practices to enhance operational efficiency.   • Readymix Holdings International (2013 - 2015 ) Group Managing Director

    Readymix is a second generation family business and a leading building materials company in South East Asia involved in pre-mixed concrete production, cement manufacturing, aggregate quarrying, precast pile manufacturing and waste recycling in the form of alternative fuels. Readymix’s concrete operations are in Brunei and Vietnam, with the head office located in Singapore. KEY CHALLENGES:  Build on historical returns from the Brunei business.  Expand business activities in Brunei into Logistics to compete with traders forward integrating into concrete production.  Develop and Execute market exit and business closure for the Vietnam business.  Explore business expansion opportunities within emerging markets in Asia. ACHIEVEMENTS:  Brunei - Successfully implemented both aggregate and fly ash import strategy complete with trading arm to better support the business needs and reduce reliance on third parties.  Brunei - Achieved one year lost time injury (LTI) free in Aug 2016 after the company had 12 LTIs in the preceding 18 months.  Vietnam – Executed the market exit plan on time and delivering the key project deliverables to the Shareholders – sales of all assets, settlement of key creditor’s debt (namely government and major suppliers) and return of free cash to Singapore.

    Readymix is a second generation family business and a leading building materials company in South East Asia involved in pre-mixed concrete production, cement manufacturing, aggregate quarrying, precast pile manufacturing and waste recycling in the form of alternative fuels. Readymix’s concrete operations are in Brunei and Vietnam, with the head office located in Singapore. This position was responsible for making all decisions relating to the day-to-day business operation of the Company not requiring resolutions of the Shareholders or Board of Management. ACHIEVEMENTS:  Catalyst for Change - Uncovered an internal fraud (est. value >USD 1.5M) resulting in; termination of 75% of the Management Team, successfully defending a case lodged by these managers and forging partnerships with new key suppliers.  Leadership - Rebuilt Management Team (Financial Controller, HR and Operations Manager) all of whom are committed to the “Values” and “Code of Conduct”.  Morale – Through open and honest communication, guided the company through a very difficult period (fallout from the internal fraud, market downturn impact, etc).  Productivity – Headcount reduced by >30% and implemented key process reviews.  Risk Management – tightened credit and supply policy to limit risk of write-offs.  Compliance – obtained all permits and licences for environmental compliance  P&L – reduced unit raw materials costs by 20%; reduced fixed costs by 15%; increased gross margin from 23% to 32%

    During my time as the Head of RMX Operational Excellence globally for Holcim at HGRS (Holcim Group Support - providing professional services to ready-mixed concrete companies of Holcim Ltd in more than 40 countries worldwide). During this time, my key responsibilities were the Concrete Operational Review (COR) portfolio of services and assessments of potential markets for Holcim to expand their conrete network. COR\'s are customised reviews of the production, distribution, commercial, quality and management functions of an organisation withe objectives of identifying operational improvements, financial improvements and knowledge sharing.
