Job Description
Pantheon Institute, a U.S. accredited Study Abroad Program specializing in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Liberal Arts education, operating in Rome, Italy, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Student Coordinator. This position is under the direction of the Pantheon Institute Vice President and works in close collaboration with the entire Institute team. The Housing Coordinator is responsible for the supervision, maintenance, and management of the Institute’s residential spaces. The Facilities Manager is involved in the negotiation of new utility and rental contracts as well as maintaining existing contractual obligations related to facilities. This position works in close collaboration with Institute administrative staff to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of students and faculty as part of Institute crisis management protocols.
The position is a full-time role and entails a flexible schedule. The successful candidate must be available for consultation and support related to sudden facilities emergencies or largescale Institute events.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Oversee the maintenance and repair of Institute residential facilities, including the scheduling and supervision of custodial functions;
– Conduct regular inspections to recommend any necessary mechanical, electrical, structural, and/or design intervention, restoration and/or modification.
– Assign student housing placements;
– Receive and resolve maintenance requests;
– Conduct and/or supervise routine safety inspections to verify compliance with local safety and security ordinances and Institute protocols.
– Collaborate with Institute staff on student arrivals, check-in, and departure activities related to study abroad programming schedules.
– Supervise residential equipment and furniture repair and replacement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
– High-school diploma required. University degree and/or qualifications in engineering, architecture, or management studies preferred; or
– At least minimal experience with student-housing operations.
– Capable of personally addressing small-scale maintenance issues;
– Fluency (C2 level) in Italian-language reading, writing, and speaking.
– Basic proficiency (A2 level or higher) in English-language reading, writing, and speaking;
– Detail oriented and individually motivated;
– Collaborates and communicates effectively with others;
– Confident working in a multi-lingual and culturally diverse environment;
All applicants must possess valid EU working documents in Italy at time of application.
The compensation package may include onsite Institute housing in the Trastevere neighborhood.
