Location: Remote in the U.S with access to a major airport
Annual Salary: USD 50,000 to 60,000
We are looking for a talented, dedicated professional to work with the University of Bristol, assisting with high volume, complex recruitment and partnership management and an agreed agenda of activities.

The North America Market Development Manager’s primary focus will be to work as part of a network of overseas officers delivering recruitment, partnerships and profile-raising activities as part of the University of Bristol International Office. The post holder will work with, and report to, the North America Regional Director, and maintain regular contact with the Director International and staff from across the International Office and wider Division for External Relations such as the Alumni Relations Office.
The post holder will be expected to represent the University of Bristol in a way that reflects the mission, values and objectives of the university, and will be required to:
- Manage a range of recruitment focussed activities, both directly and across study abroad recruitment channels and partners, including:
- guiding prospective students and their families through the whole application process
- connecting with prospective students through phone calls, emails and other communication as required
- conducting presentations and attending recruitment and marketing events across the United States
- managing and collecting key data that will be used in the analysis of student application quality, direct and study abroad application numbers and conversion rates
- feeding key data information into weekly management reports
- collaborate with the University of Bristol’s Social Media team to raise Bristol’s profile via appropriate social media channels)
- manages the relationship and planning of appropriate social media channels with outsourced web/digital companies
- supporting the development of a recruitment activities calendar
- supporting the development of training materials
- Keep abreast of market developments and customer context and provide regular market intelligence to the Regional Director with a view to providing recommendations such as the range of academic programmes offered and entry requirements
- Work in conjunction with the Regional Director and the International Office to facilitate and support faculty visits to North America
- Develop budget and track expenses (with oversight from the Regional Director)
- Support the development of Education/ recruitment-oriented partnerships (under the supervision of the University’s International Partnerships Team)
The position involves frequent interaction with international customers and significant travel will be required (40%). This role will initially focus on the USA, but may also incorporate face-to-face recruitment activity and applicant support, as well as partnership development activities, in Canada.
The Most Suitable Background
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Marketing or communications qualifications are an advantage
- At least one year of experience in a role related to higher education, international education, or similar
- Knowledge or a willingness to learn about the UK higher education landscape including admissions processes (UCAS), visa requirements set out by UKVI, academic study, careers, and employability (Graduate Route) etc.
- Experience in Study/Education Abroad, ideally possessing an existing network of institutions across the North America region with Education Abroad programmes
- Study or experience abroad is preferred
- Voluntary or other life experience that demonstrates creativity, hard work, persistence, and drive to succeed
- Desire to progress in a career in international education, with a commitment to professional development
- Ability to travel internationally
