Job Description

Drew University is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as the Director of the Center for Global Education. As a member of the Launch leadership team, this position plays a pivotal role in advancing Drew’s commitment to providing all students with two guaranteed, high-impact practices that will prepare them for success beyond graduation. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading and enhancing domestic and international study away programs and facilitating life-changing experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for Drew University’s global programs, ensuring alignment with the university’s mission, values, and strategic plan.

  • Oversee all aspects of global education, including student recruitment, program development and assessment, and risk management.

  • Manage center operations and budget, and the systematic collection and analysis of engagement and outcome data to inform current and future strategic planning and allocation of resources.

  • Collaborate with faculty to provide guidance and support in the development of programs, leading and facilitating initiatives to enhance faculty engagement, program quality and alignment with best practices.

  • Lead, train, and mentor an assistant director, student employees and other staff engaged with Center efforts; hire, train, and equip new staff as needed.

  • Oversee scholarship funding to increase equitable access to education abroad experiences.

  • Provide guidance and support to students before, during, and after their experiences to maximize their learning and personal growth.

  • Continuously assess and improve the quality and impact of global programs through data-driven evaluation and assessment.

  • Represent the Center for Global Education on university committees.

  • Cultivate partnerships with international institutions, organizations, and alumni to create opportunities for student internships, research, and service learning abroad.

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive global community on campus by celebrating cultural diversity and promoting global awareness.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in international education and program development.

  • The ability to work and collaborate with diverse constituents and a commitment to an environment that considers diversity, inclusion, and equity an asset to decision-making and performance.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.

  • Knowledge of best practices in risk management for international programs.

  • Ability to think strategically and align global programs with Drew’s mission.

  • Familiarity with national trends and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in global education.

  • Familiarity with Terra Dotta or similar customer relationship management platforms.

  • A passion for expanding the horizons of students and preparing them for post-graduation success.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are certified education abroad professionals through the Forum on Education Abroad.

This is a full-time, exempt staff position that requires regular weekly in-person engagement on campus. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Launch.
