Te āhua o Te Tūrunga – The nature of the position
Based in our Washington DC office at the Embassy of New Zealand, and reporting to the Director of Engagement, you will be responsible for supporting the identification and delivery of opportunities in North America for the New Zealand international education sector.
You will build and utilise strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers including governments, education providers, education agents, media, students, and alumni to support internationalisation initiatives and ensure a positive perception of New Zealand education.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in upcoming projects and initiatives, including supporting education delegation visits, organising New Zealand’s participation in annual international education conferences e.g., NAFSA, The Forum on Education Abroad and Diversity Abroad’s Global Inclusion Conference and attending student fairs and events to promote New Zealand as a study destination.
Ngā tino Pūkenga/Wheako – Essential skills/experiences for the role
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and an understanding of New Zealand and North American education systems
- Strong familiarity with the North American “study abroad” market and US full degree recruitment
- Familiarity with current events, discourse and best practices related to issues of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- Sound written communication and report writing skills
- A willingness to embrace Te Ao Māori including Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Direct experience in international education sector preferable
The salary range for this position starts at USD 78,853 (plus insurance cover)
