About The Job HR Advisor

HR Advisor - Marsh Mills, Plymouth

37.5 hrs per week

Monday to Friday 9.00 am 5.30 pm. Option to work from home one day a week after 6 months.

The Role

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our small friendly team of HR professionals based at Marsh Mills, Plymouth, covering a full range of HR services, with a key focus on engaging with our managers and staff across the business.

As an HR Advisor you will work with the HR Director and have key responsibilities around retention, engagement & L&D initiatives alongside absence management, and also undertake formal casework as and when required. As a key member of the HR team you will have a clear understanding of GDPR regulations and be expected to support and advise our Managers on a full range of employment issues including the interpretation of internal policies and employment law to ensure consistent fair practices are maintained and developed.

In addition you will be our key contact for Apprentices and work experience students within the business and liaison with our Management team, apprenticeship partners & schools/colleges ensuring correct agreements are in place prior to agreeing funding/placements, provision of support networks for our young people, and arranging celebrations on achieving technical certificates.

Whilst not responsible for the administration of recruitment, you will be expected to support/attend open evenings/career fayres and school visits as and when required.

The Person

You should ideally be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or above with requisite experience and strong organisational skills, be articulate and have the ability to engage and motivate along with accurate administrative and database management skills.

You will have the ability to maintain an impartial stance and be able to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities to ensure that deadlines are met in a timely manner, whilst enjoying the challenges that an exciting career in HR can bring you.

From time to time you will need to visit other sites within the group, and therefore a willingness to travel is essential.
