About Me

I am a fully qualified Heavy Equipment Repair Technician with an apprentice background in diesel mechanics and more than nine (5+) years of working experience on mining mobile equipment in the mining industry. I have intensive hands on experience on Caterpillar, Hitachi and komatsu machines.

I am a safety conscious person that follows safety rules and procedures while ensuring that my co-workers are working safely. I am a team worker, humble and open minded, always willing to learn, help and share ideas. I am a sober and enthusiastic participator. Capable of working with anyone regardless of sex, race, origin, religion and beliefs. Keen to learn and quick to pick up new skills and ideas.

I am result orientated, motivated by challenges and achievements. A top performance award winner. Always paying attention to detail, safety guidelines and task instructions to ensure works are performed to proper set standards within given time frames and budgets. I am capable of carrying out component failure analysis to determine cause of failure, rectify and give proper recommendations for quality and standardized maintenance of mobile equipment with necessary contamination controls. I am have on various caterpillar, komatsu and Liebherr machines done component rebuilds such as; engines, torque converters,
transmissions, differentials, final drives, undercarriage components, cylinders, pumps, air driers, valves and many more. I am conversant with systematic fault diagnosing procedures on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.

I do shutdowns, breakdowns, field service, rebuilds, preventive maintenance services and daily checklists on mining mobile equipment. I am capable of carrying out maintenance tasks singlehandedly or as a team with no or minimum supervision. I have been working on dozers, dump trucks, motor graders, loaders, forklifts,
compactors just to mention a few.

 CAT MACHINES 777D, 777F, 785C dump trucks, 992G loaders, D10T track dozers, 834H, 834G wheel dozers, 16H motor graders and 988G integrated tools.
 KOMATSU MACHINES HD785-5, HD1500-7 dump trucks, WA900-3, WA500-3, WA500-6 wheel loaders, D475A-5, D375A-5, D375A-6R, D275A-5 track dozers, WD900-3 wheel dozers, GD825A-2, GD675-5 motor graders, WA500-6 integrated tools and WH716 forklifts.

Work & Experience

  • First Quantum Mining and Operations (2015 - Present ) Heavy Equipment Repair Mechanic

    Working on various mining mobile plants including caterpillar, komatsu, Liebherr, Hitachi, Volvo, Bell just to mention a few. Working under the maintenance department as a heavy equipment repair mechanic doing;  Carrying out component rebuilds of components such as Engines, Torque converters, Transmissions, Differentials, Final drives, Undercarriage components, Cylinders, Pumps, Control valves, Air driers, Turbo chargers Injection pumps and Injectors.  Diagnosing and analyzing parts and components for failure and courses of failure in order to rectify, repair, report and give proper recommendations for quality practical maintenance standards.  Carry out planned preventive maintenances and services.  Troubleshooting parts and components malfunctions such as overheating, rough running, strange sounds, low power and many more.  Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.  Carrying out component and machine rebuilds.  Carrying out mid and full time component change outs.  Carrying out daily checks, running checks, inspections and services.  Replacing, adjusting and calibrating various parts, components and systems.  Shutdowns, breakdowns, field services, preventive maintenance services, daily checklists from the workshops and in the pit.  Recovering of broken-down machines from the pit  Responding and attending to field breakdowns.  Testing and adjusting parts, components and systems operations.  Ordering parts, components and services  Opening and closing work orders  Chairing daily safety talks before work commencements and managing first aid boxes.
