  • Engineering Council of South Africa (2023 - Present ) Chairperson (AEW) Students and Young Engineers Working Group Committee

    I am appointed as the chairperson/ stream leader of the 9th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week (AEW) Students and Young Engineers Working Group. Key responsibilities: To employ my networks within the profession as well as expertise and knowledge to adequately provide an advisory role towards executing a successful event that will position South Africa as a key role player in the engineering industry globally.

  • WFEO - World Federation of Engineering Organizations (2020 - Present ) South African Delegate - Young Engineers / Future Leaders Committee at WFEO

    I currently serve on WFEO YE/FL Committee, as the South African delegate representing young engineers from the region. I provide regional updates to the international community represented by young engineers from all over the world such as Europe, Asia , America, Africa & Oceania. I organize events, talks and webinars that are aligned to the United Nations SDGs and issues affecting young engineers all over the world.

    During my tenure at Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID) I was responsible for providing engineering support throughout the project life cycle for Client Department of Education and Department of Health under CAPEX and OPEX. Ensure compliance to departments minimum norms and standards. Engage with senior government officials and advise on risk mitigation on underperforming projects. Solve engineering problems with stakeholders and mitigate wastage. Implement IDMS process for GDID projects. Conduct condition assessment surveys. Provide site supervision and quality control. Mitigate scope creep, verify scope, mitigate compensation events. Stakeholder engagements with Professional Service Providers (PSPs) and provide scrutiny and submission approval recommendations at various stages of the project life-cycle. Review detailed designs and ensure compliance with engineering standards and optimization of designs.
